Dit word aangetref in subtropiese en tropiese woude van Suid-Afrika, deur die Midde-Ooste, die Indiese subkontinent en die suide van China tot Suidoos-Asië en Australië, asook in Namibië langs riviere en fonteine met genoegsame water.
