InternetArchiveBot
wysigPlease use the format "9 Augustus 2021" for dates instead of "2021-08-09" for archive-date, as we use the first one here on Afrikaans Wikipedia. Thank you! Groete. -- SpesBona 18:30, 9 Augustus 2021 (UTC)
- SpesBona, I have made the configuration change and can confirm it has taken effect. Please let me know if there are any other issues. Harej (kontak) 00:44, 13 Augustus 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @Harej: this bot adds web archive links for external links in infoboxes. This is not necessary and disrupts the design of these infoboxes, e.g. Seoel, Changwon, Daegu, Gwangju, Suwon, and a lot more. Please let your bot remove web archives from infoboxes. Groete. -- SpesBona 20:55, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the report. The bot adds archives to any link it finds to be dead. It appears the bot is having issues with some Korean sites for some unknown reason. Until this is fixed, you can append the {{Cbignore}} to the URLs as a workaround. You may need to import it from enwiki first. You can find it here. —CYBERPOWER (kontak) 18:41, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Please tell the Bot don't to put web archive links in infoboxes, as it interrupts the page's design. We don't have the time or manpower to run after the bot to fix thinks like in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Please use this bot to remove all web archive links from infoboxes to restore a normal design for our articles. Thank you very much! Groete. -- SpesBona 19:05, 28 Februarie 2022 (UTC)
- SpesBona I recommend making future requests on meta:User talk:InternetArchiveBot—this page is actively monitored for feedback. In the meantime I have changed the bot's settings to only scan links within references. The bot will thus avoid making edits to links in infoboxes. Note that it may take some time for the configuration change to take effect. Harej (kontak) 19:09, 28 Februarie 2022 (UTC)
- @Harej en Cyberpower678:, all those websites from South Korean cities still exists, so there was no need for a webarchive. It would be much better if this bot can fix external links. Using webarchive should only be the last thing to do. As I said above, {{webarchive}} interrupts infoboxes and should not be used there. Sometimes there is only a human mistakes that makes weblinks broken, e.g. Cortina d'Ampezzo which I fixed, too. Groete. -- SpesBona 19:55, 13 Junie 2022 (UTC)
- SpesBona, the bot can identify links in references but it cannot identify links within infoboxes, since infoboxes are different on every wiki. Limiting edits to references would be the more cautious approach here. Harej (kontak) 18:30, 20 Junie 2022 (UTC)
