Entitled: Mercenary Artillerymen Supplied With Guns & Ammunition By The British, China [c1880] Attribution Unk (possibly William Saunders) [RESTORED] The original seems to have been a scan from a printed page (supposedly from an out of print book entitled: China Illustrated, publisher unk, on page 109). This was a tough image to work with as the original was probably an old dot matrix newsprint image that, once enlarged, easily fell apart into a dot pattern. I blurred the dots just enough to make them seem cohesive, then had to resharpen the image so that it didn't appear too soft. Thereafter, the usual spotting and scratch repair, contrast and tone adjustments. |
