DNA Strings het oor die afgelope 7 jaar bekend geword as een van Suid-afrika se beste instrumentele groepe. Toekennings vir Beste Lewendige Optrede, Best Kontemporere Groep en Beste Kontemporere Album en 'n GMT vir Beste Groep/Duo en nog vele benoemings, insluitend Beste Instrumenele Album, bewys dat die vyf manne van Stellenbosch 'n wen-resep beet het. Hulle hoogs aansteeklike musiek sal sorg dat hulle vertoning lewendig, opbouend, energiek en passie vol sal wees. Klanke van Ierland, Suid-Amerika, Afrika en Arabie sal gehoor word met Flamence Kitaar, Viool, Baskitaar, dromme en 'n verskeidenheid van perkussie van reg oor die wereld wat dit sal op dis. Hulle optrede, wat hulle al na Skotland, Engeland en die Seycelles gevat het, beloof om almal aan die klap, dans en skree te he. Defnitief nie een wat jy sal wil mis nie.
Die naam "DNA Strings" is afgelei van die name van die twee jong kunstenaars wie hierdie groep op die been gebring het: "D" vir [[Danie Kotzé]] (op [[viool]]), en "A" vir [[Adriaan de Beer]] (op [[kitaar]]), saam "D en A" en vandaar die slim [[akroniem]].

DNA Strings are one of South Africa's best-known instrumental bands. They have won awards for Best Live Performance, Best Duo/Group, Best Contempory Band and Best Contempory Album and have received numerous nominations including Best Instrumental Band. The music, of which the essence is captured in their live shows, can be described as pulsating, energetic, uplifting, passionate and powerful. They have become known for a dynamic, interactive, vibeing show that has the crowd clapping, dancing and cheering, always leaving them wanting more. Their live show is a showcase of their fusion of styles which include: African, Irish, South American, Traditional Folk and even some North African Arabic sounds. Flamenco Guitar, Violin, Drums, Bass Guitar and a multitude of percussion from all over the world dish up their ethnic sounds. Their sounds have taken them to other parts of Africa, the Edinburgh Fringe festival in Scotland the Seychelles and even a show in the Royal Albert Hall.
 
To date they have recorded and released 3 studio albums (DNA Strings, El Nino & Nomad) and one live DVD & CD (Live in Cape Town).
