Edgar Poe (Born on January 19, 1809, at, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA, - Died on October 7, 1849, at, Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA.)., was an American poet, writer, author, literary critic, editor, editor-in-chief, publisher, poem publisher, book publisher, and a student of the University of Virginia (Edgar Allan Poe studied there at the University of Virginia, at, Richmond, Virginia, USA, from March 19, 1826 until February 26, 1827.). On January 19, 1809, Edgar Poe was born to actors Elizabeth "Eliza" Arnold, Jr. Hopkins Poe (his mother), and, David Poe, Jr. (his father) Edgar Poe's father, David Poe, Jr., was also a succesful merchant. Edgar and both of his parents moved from Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, to, Virginia. When Edgar Poe was 2 years old, almost, 3 years old, on December of 1811, both of his parents had died from either pneumonia or pulmonary tuberculosis, at, the state of Virginia in USA. Edgar Poe was sent to live in an orphanage, there, he was later illegally adopted by a Scottish-born American successful tobacco merchant John Allan and his wife Frances Allan, they were his godparents. On January 7, 1812, Edgar Poe was baptized as Edgar Allan Poe, by a Christian priest, at a Christian Church. Before turning seven years old, Edgar Allan Poe, attended a language grammar school, at, Irvine, North Aryshire County, Scotland, at, Europe, for a very short period of time. Then, John Allan, his wife Frances Allan and their illegally adoptive son Edgar Poe, sailed on the ship Martha back to Richmond, Virginia. On March 19, 1826, Edgar attended University of Virginia, and was an excellent student, but, his godfather, John Allan, gave him less than half of the money, he actually needed. This resulted in Edgar, burning the funiture, to stay cozy and warm. Also, Edgar, started gambling, to get more money, Edgar soon found himself approximately 2000 dollars in debt, within 11 months, almost 1 year. Because his godfather, John Allan did not want to cover Edgar's debts, On, February 26, 1827, Edgar had to be kicked out of the university John Allan, then, became afraid, and ran away, to join the army, under a fake name and a fake identity, so he would not end up in a prison, somewhere, because, of the debts, John Allan did not want to cover for Edgar. Then, after that, on, Edgar left to Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, from, Richmond, Virginia, and joined the U.S. Army, under the alias "Edgar A. Perry", Soon, within nearly 1 month, Edgar got kicked out of the U.S. Army. Later, on, July 1827, Edgar Allan Poe published his first poem "The Tamerlane and other poems", under the pen/book name "Henry le Rennet". On August 10, 1829, Edgar published a book, "History extraordinaries". On September 22, 1835, Edgar Allan Poe, obtained a marriage license, at, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, in order to marry his then 13 year old first cousin, "Virginia Eliza". On May 16, 1836, Edgar Allan Poe married his first cousin Virginia Eliza, He was almost 27, she was almost 14. On one fateful night on January 1842, Virginia Eliza contracted pulmonary tuberculosis while singing and dancing. On January 29, 1845, Edgar Allan Poe published a poem that would later in life be famous, "The Raven". On, probably about, May 19, 1846, Edgar Allan Poe moved his first cousin/wife to a small cottage located at a farm, at, Fordham, Bronx County, New York, from, Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA. Virginia Eliza died there from pulmonary tuberculosis, on, January 30, 1847. After, "Virginia Eliza" died there, Edgar Allan Poe moved to Richmond, Virginia, USA, from, Fordham, New York, USA. Later, On, October 3, 1849, Edgar was found unconscious in a gutter, at, Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA, by one of his best friends. Edgar was rushed by an horse carriage to Baltimore Collage Hospital, at, Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA, there he died, on October 7, at age 40., His last words were Lord, God, please, help my poor soul, please, and then he died after saying those last words, of his.
