Alfred Charles Post
Alfred Charles Post (13 Januarie 1806, New York - 7 Februarie 1886) was 'n Amerikaanse chirurg.[1]
Hy het in 1822 aan die Columbia Kollege gegradueer, aan die Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1827, en ook gestudeer in Parys, Wene, Berlyn en Londen (1827-29). Hy was professor by die Castleton Mediese Kollege, Vermont (van oftalmiese chirurgie, 1842-44, van chirurgie 1844-51), professor in chirurgie by New York Universiteit (1851-75), emeritus professor (1875-86), en president van die mediese fakulteit (1873-86).
Hy was 'n mede-lid van die Akademie van Geneeskunde, waarvan hy in 1867-68 president was. Post het Observations on the Cure of Stammering [2] (1841) geskryf. Hy was 'n ontwerper van verskeie chirurgiese instrumente en toestelle.
Hy het in 1831 met Harriet Beers, dogter van Cyrenius Beers, getrou, en het elf kinders gehad, onder andere George Edward Post.
