Epigram
'n Epigram is 'n kort, interessante, onvergeetlike, somtyds verrassende of satiriese verklaring. Die woord kom van die Ougriekse ἐπίγραμμα (epígramma, "inskripsie", van ἐπιγράφειν [epigráphein], "om te skryf op, om in te skryf").[1] Hierdie literêre tegniek word reeds vir meer as twee millennia beoefen.
Die teenwoordigheid van geestigheid of sarkasme onderskei nie-poëtiese epigramme van aforismes en spreekwoorde, wat tipies nie daardie eienskappe vertoon nie.
