God is an Astronaut is 'n instrumentele musiekgroep uit Glen of the Downs, Co. Wicklow (Ierland). Die groep is in 2002 gevorm. Hulle het hul debuutalbum The End of the Beginning in 2002 onder hul eie etiket, Revive Records, vrygestel. In 2005 is hul tweede ateljee-album, All is Violent, All is Bright, vrygestel en in 2006 het 'n EP getiteld A Moment of Stillness verskyn. Hul derde vollengte ateljee-album, Far from Refuge, is in April 2007 in digitale formaat op hul webtuiste vrygestel. Hul vierde en selfgetitelde album is op 7 November 2008 vrygestel.
