Afrikaans: Hierdie beeldereeks van die Sentinel-2A-satelliet van Februarie tot Oktober 2016 toon die veranderende landskap in die omliggende gebiede van die stad Los Palacios y Villafranca en die Brazo de Este-natuurpark in Spanje. Die gebied op die foto is 'n deel van die Guadalquivir-rivierbekken waar 'n ryk landboubedryf gedy met gewasse wat rys, waatlemoen, rissies, komkommer, tamatie en quinoa insluit. In hierdie animasie kan ons duidelike veranderinge in die landerye bespeur aangesien die verskillende gewasse teen verskillende tempo's groei en in verskillende seisoene geoes word. Die Copernicus Sentinel-2-missie is ontwerp om beelde te verskaf wat onderskeid tussen gewastipes kan tref, asook data oor talle plantkenmerke soos blaaroppervlakte, chlorofil-inhoud en waterinhoud kan insamel – alles noodsaaklik vir die akkurate monitering van plantgroei.
English: Images from the Sentinel-2A satellite from February to October 2016 show the changing landscape in Spain’s Brazo de Este natural park and around the city of Los Palacios y Villafranca. Part of the Guadalquivir river basin, the area pictured has a rich agriculture with crops including rice, watermelon, pepper, cucumber, tomato and quinoa. In this animation we can clearly see changes in the fields as different crops grow at different rates, and are harvested in different seasons. The Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission is designed to provide images that can be used to distinguish between different crop types as well as data on numerous plant features, such as leaf area, chlorophyll content and water content – all essential for accurately monitoring plant growth.
