Paul Auster

Paul Benjamin Auster (3 Februarie 1947 - 30 April 2024) was 'n Amerikaanse romanskrywer en filmregisseur wat veral bekendheid verwerf het vir sy postmodernistiese romans. Sy boeke is vertaal in meer as veertig tale, en sluit 'n verskeidenheid genres in soos memoires, misdaadfiksie, realisme en absurde fiksie. Hy het in die vroeë 1970's gewerk as 'n letterkundige vertaler in Frankryk. Sedert 1981 is hy getroud met die romanskrywer Siri Hustvedt. Hulle woon tans saam in Brooklyn. Auster het aan 'n briewewisseling saam met die Suid-Afrikaanse romanskrywer J.M. Coetzee deelgeneem, gepubliseer in 2013 as Here and Now: Letters, 2008–2011.
