Jongste opmerking: 15 jaar gelede deur Naudefj
Onthou julle nog ons gesprek oor die spelling van "Kolombië" vs "Kolombia". Die AWS gee Bolivia, wat ook teenstrydig is met omtrent alle ander name. Ek het pas in "Woordwerk" van Breyten Breytenbach "Bolivië" gesien. Wil ons dalk maar Bolivia ook eerder as Bolivië spel? --Alias 21:46, 8 Augustus 2005 (UTC)

By the way, just as 'reference' my afrikaans atlas says bolivia while it says Colombia, meanwhile, my parents say bolivia is the right spelling. I have no idea why thse 2 make exceptions in afrikaans grammer, but apparentley, the names are the same in afrikaans as in spanish and english :S --Bezuidenhout (kontak) 21:12, 28 Augustus 2008 (UTC)
- The Spanish names Colombia and Bolivia are common in Dutch (just like the Anglo-French spelling of Canada); it seems that Afrikaans has followed Dutch in adopting these spellings (the Afrikaans vocabulary reflects strong Dutch influence as many new and scientific terms had to be introduced to Afrikaans in the 19th and 20th century to enrich the original basic vocabulary of spoken Afrikaans). --Voyageur (kontak) 21:27, 28 Augustus 2008 (UTC)
