"[6] Twee van sy mees suksesvolle studio-albums, The Road to Hell (1989) en Auberge (1991), was bo-aan die UK Albums Chart.[6] Sy ander trefferliedjies sluit in I Can Hear Your Heartbeat, Stainsby Girls, Josephine, On the Beach, Let's Dance, Driving Home for Christmas, Working on It, Tell Me There's a Heaven, Auberge, Looking for the Summer, Winter Song, Nothing to Fear, Julia en If You Were Me, 'n duet saam met Elton John.[7] Rea is drie keer (in 1988, 1989 en 1990) benoem vir die Brit Award in die kategorie "Beste Britse Manlike Kunstenaar".[8][9][10]
