Diane Awerbuck

Diane Awerbuck is 'n Suid-Afrikaanse skryfster. Haar eerste roman, getiteld Gardening at Night, het in 2004 'n paar toekennings ontvang – die 'Commonwealth Writers' Prize', Beste Eerste Boek (Afrika en die Karibiese Eilande), en was ook op 'n kortlys vir die Internasionale Dublin IMPAC Toekenning.[1]

In 2011 is haar versameling kortverhale getiteld Cabin Fever deur Random Struik gepubliseer. Haar boek Home Remedies is ook in Augustus 2012 gepubliseer. Diane was ook op 'n kortlys geplaas vir die Caine toekenning in 2014.

Diane het skoolgehou by Hoër Meisieskool Rustenburg tot en met 2002.[2] Voor dit was sy 'n onderwyseres by Cedar House en AFDA, albei in die Kaap.[3] Van haar werke het in die in die Mail & Guardian verskyn [4] en sy doen ook werk vir die Sunday Times.

Haar opstelle en kortverhale word gereeld gepubliseer en van haar werke is reeds in Duits, Sweeds, Mandaryn en Russies vertaal.[5] Haar tesis vir haar doktorsgraad met die titel The Spirit and the Letter: Trauma, Warblogs and the Public Sphere word tans verwerk in kreatiewe opstelle vir publikasie.
