Edwyn Bevan
Edwyn Robert Bevan OBE, FBA (gebore 15 Februarie 1870 in Londen - oorlede 18 Oktober 1943 in Londen[1]) was 'n veelsydige Engelse filosoof en geskiedkundige van die Helleense wêreld. Hy was die veertiende van sestien kinders van Robert Cooper Lee Bevan, 'n vennoot in Barclays Bank, en sy tweede vrou Frances Emma Shuttleworth, dogter van Philip Nicholas Shuttleworth, Biskop van Chichester.

Hy het 'n akademiese posisie te King's College London beklee. Die Arabis Anthony Ashley Bevan was sy broer, die komplotteoris Nesta Helen Webster was sy jongste suster en die kunstenaar Robert Polhill Bevan 'n neef. Hy het in 1896 getrou met Daisy Waldegrave, dogter van Granville Waldegrave, 3de Baron Radstock. Die egpaar het twee dogters gehad.
Bevan is 'n eredoktorsgraad toegeken by St. Andrews in 1922, en 'n ere-D.Litt. deur Oxford in 1923. In 1942 word hy 'n Deelgenoot van die Britse Akademie.
