Siouxsie & the Banshees
Siouxsie & the Banshees was 'n Britse musiekgroep wat in 1976 deur voorsanger Siouxsie Sioux en baskitaarspeler Steven Severin, die enigste konstante lede van die groep, gevorm is. Die groep was aanvanklik met die Britse punkrock-toneel geassosieer, maar Siouxsie & the Banshees het gou geëwolueer om "'n vorm van postpunk-wanklank vol gewaagde ritmiese en soniese eksperimentering" te skep.[1] The Times noem Siouxsie & the Banshees "een van die waaghalsigste en kompromisloosste awontuurlustiges van die postpunk-era."[1] Die groep het 'n inspirerende bron in die skepping en ontwikkeling van gotiese rock geword, en hul styl het ook elemente van popmusiek en avant-garde gekombineer.
