Die voël is 15 - 19 cm groot en weeg 30 - 40 g met 'n vlerkspan van 38 - 42 sentimeter. Daar broei 6 mijoen pare in subantarktiese eilande en [[Antarktika]]. In Engels staan die voël bekend as ''Wilson's storm-petrel''.
