Umm Kulthum (Arabies:ˈomme kælˈsuːm|lang; Frans: Oum Kalthoum; gebore Umm-kulthom ʾIbrāhīm es-Sayyid el-Beltāǧī أم كلثوم إبراهيم السيد البلتاجي[1][2] op 31 Desember 1898, of 4 Mei 1904;[3] oorlede 3 Februarie 1975) was 'n Egiptiese sangeres, liedjieskrywer, en film-aktrise in die 1920s tot die 1970s. Sy is die eretitel van Kawkab al-Sharq (كوكب الشرق, 'Ster van die Ooste') gegee.[4] Umm Kulthum was bekend vir haar vokale vermoë en unieke styl. Sy het meer as 80 miljoen plate wêreldwyd verkoop, wat haar een van die topverkoper Midde-Oosterse sangers alle tye gemaak het.[5]
