Was hy 'n Nederlander of Hollander

--RAM (kontak) 14:08, 30 Oktober 2008 (UTC)Beantwoord

  • This might not answer your question but Holldand is part of Netherlands (you probably already knew this) and is just th western part of the country, or the area stretching from amsterdam to the rhine delta , which is why it's inccorectly reffered to as 'Holland' by many english speaking people. It might have been named new-holland maybe because that was where he from from or because the country was often inncorectly referred to as Holland. --Bezuidenhout (kontak) 16:20, 30 Oktober 2008 (UTC)Beantwoord
    • I have read up about him and he wasn't born even close to holland but in groningen, but when he was born , nederland was under countrol of spain, so maybe he wanted to spread as much names about holland or the netherlands around so that he can show it's an independant state maybe, all of these are just theories, so you might or probably know all this, but i am just trying to help and figure out whats the difference Bezuidenhout (kontak) 16:23, 30 Oktober 2008 (UTC)Beantwoord
Haai, RAM. In Tasman se tyd was die land "Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden", dus wel Nederland. Anrie (kontak) 16:49, 30 Oktober 2008 (UTC)Beantwoord
