The symbol for the Earth is U+1F728 🜨 ALCHEMICAL SYMBOL FOR VERDIGRIS. The + symbol connects with the circle, and the symbol aligns with the letters of the alphabet.

The other symbol, U+2295 ⊕ CIRCLED PLUS, is a mathematical symbol. The + does not connect with the circle, or at least it's not supposed to: the symbols look different on my browser, but because some fonts are sloppy about that, Unicode provides a mechanism to force a "white rim" between the + and the circle. U+2295 also sits at the midline, above the bases of the letters of the alphabet, like a mid dot (·) does. More important, though, the symbol for the Earth never has a white rim: the + always connects with the circle. Kwamikagami (kontak) 12:27, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
