Benjamin Mountfort

Benjamin Woolfield Mountfort (13 Maart 1825–15 Maart 1898) was 'n Engelse emigrant na Nieu-Seeland waar hy een van dié land se mees prominente 19de eeuse argitekte geword het. Hy het groot aandeel gehad in die vorming van die stad Christchurch. Hy is aangestel as die eerste amptelike provinsiale argitek in die ontwikkelende provinsie Canterbury. Hy is baie beïnvloed deur die Anglo-Katolieke filosofie agter Viktoriaanse argitektuur, en die invoer van die Gotiese hernuwing in Nieu-Seeland word aan hom toegeskryf. Sy Gotiese ontwerpe in beide hout en klip in die provinsie word geag as uniek aan Nieu-Seeland. Hy word vandag as die stigtersargitek van Canterbury gesien.
