- Village is "dorp" in Afrikaans. "Dorpie" is the diminutive and although many people use it, it is often seen as derogatory by the people who live in these dorpies. In an encyclopedia I would suggest that one sticks to the word "dorp". Winston (kontak) 21:46, 21 Maart 2009 (UTC)

- Maybe not for the Afrikaans Wikipedia. I just expect people who write for a project like this to have a certain standard and a certain knowledge of Afrikaans so that it can be credible. Maybe I'm just over-zealous. Winston (kontak) 22:12, 21 Maart 2009 (UTC)
