Ek het oor die naam op Engelse wiki gepraat. So what exactly is the name for the settlement. I know Bethanie is the "official" and mostly used name. But when I looked up historical maps of Namibia and this is what I found:

Bethany is the English translation of Bethanien en Bethanie. However, although English has become the official language of Namibia and the town would be named Bethany in official documents, the Afrikaans name Bethanie is widely used. Southern Namibia is 'n bastion vir die Afrikaanse taal, and Bethanie is the natural trefwoord for Afrikaans-speaking Namibians which they would expect to find in an Afrikaans encyclopedia.
