Zchinwali?? wysig

Where did the name 'Zchinwali' come from? It's not neither the Dutch or English name. Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 21:12, 3 Januarie 2010 (UTC)Beantwoord

Its the german and official georgian name. -- JCIV (Besprekings | Bydraes) 21:24, 3 Januarie 2010 (UTC)Beantwoord
The right Afrikaans transliteration is actually Tschinwali, but I don't think anybody will be able to pronounce it correctly. It's "ts" (German "z") + ch (a gutteral "g" or "ch" like in Scottish "loch", transliterated in English as "kh") + inwali. Winston (kontak) 22:01, 3 Januarie 2010 (UTC)Beantwoord
So if it's suppose to be pronounced like you said, it should be "Tsginwali"? Z would only make an s sound in Afrikaans, so the effect is incorrect. The only way I know of to make the gutteral "g" is with.. a "g". From what I know of a "ch" makes a "kh" sound in Afrikaans. Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 19:56, 28 Augustus 2010 (UTC)Beantwoord
