Hallo SGrabarczuk (WMF), hartelik welkom op die Afrikaanse Wikipedia! Dankie vir jou belangstelling in Wikipedia. Ons werk hier aan die ideaal van ’n gratis en vrylik beskikbare, vrylik bewerkbare, neutrale en volledige ensiklopedie. Die Afrikaanse Wikipedia bestaan al sedert Desember 2001 en bevat reeds 120 018 artikels. Vanaf die begin van die projek het die gebruikers ’n aantal riglyne en uitgangspunte vir artikelbewerking en onderlinge samewerking opgestel. Nuwelinge kan hieruit voordeel trek. Jy mag dit behulpsaam vind om van die skakels in hierdie raampie te volg en met die projek vertroud te raak voordat jy begin bydra. Indien jou vingers jeuk om te eksperimenteer, kan jy gerus ons Sandput besoek: dit is juis vir die rede daar. Uiteindelik wil ons dat al ons gebruikers vry voel om hulle gang te gaan, maar dit doen natuurlik geen kwaad om ’n bietjie houvas te kry voor 'n mens in die diep kant in spring nie! Die plek waar ander Wikipediane jou in die toekoms kan kontak en jy hulle dan kan beantwoord. Elke gebruiker het so ’n bladsy. Jy kan dus ook boodskappe op ander gebruikers se besprekingsbladsye los. Sluit boodskappe en besprekings altyd af met ~~~~ of deur op die handtekeningknop in die wysigingsvenster te kliek: sodoende word jou boodskap onderteken met jou gebruikersnaam en die datum en tyd waarop die boodskap voltooi is. Kliek dan as laaste op "Stoor bladsy" om enige bewerkings te stoor.

New skin implemented without positive feedback

Dear SGrabarczuk, you implemented the new skin for Afrikaans wikipedia while the feedback was not very positive. Can you please roll the default back to the 2010 skin. JMK (kontak) 19:25, 27 Oktober 2022 (UTC)

Not paying attention User:SGrabarczuk (WMF). You only adjusted the calendar and did no further consultation or listened to any of the advice you got. I don't believe in the necessity of your new skin, though the old one indeed requires attention. Neither do I believe in the positive stats you gave in support for your actions. Your unilateral interference and disregard of messages are not appreciated, and may require a basic rethink about the way that individual wikipedias interact with the WMF. I'm truly sorry @JMK and @Oesjaar, there was a human error. Your wiki was supposed not to have the deployment yet. I wanted to postpone and have a bit more time to talk with you about the skin. (It doesn't mean the skin would have been changed much, but at least we'd have had better understanding.) In the meantime, my personal availability was limited. Unfortunately, somehow, Vector 2022 was deployed before I had a chance to have a good conversation with you. This shouldn't have happened. I understand that you may question our credibility now.

I will read the feedback again and address the issues you've raised.

Above all: we don't want to break anyone's workflows. If someone chooses to continue using the old Vector, we won't force them to do anything else.

Dear SGrabarczuk (WMF), basically you tell me that we get the 2022 vector skin and that is it. I notice stacks of sensible complaints about it, all of which I can associate with and make perfect sense. You have mostly not replied to them. The 2022 vector skin is a misapplied idea, unpolished, wasting space and restrictive of choice. I can revert to the old skin, but that means that what our readers see, and what I as editor see are not the same - big problem and hassle. You apparently resist automating the gadget that would restore space for those who want a wider article field - I see several requests for it. If so, you seem to be forcing a rigid view on the whole wikipedia community. I detest that the foundation's money is misapplied to this end, and I foresee unnecessary wrangling about this, which in the first 20 years of wikipedia was never necessary.
