Isotope van rutherfordium
Die chemiese element rutherfordium (Rf), met ’n atoommassa van ongeveer 262 u, het geen stabiele isotope nie en word dus as ’n radioaktiewe element geklassifiseer. Die 15 isotope is onstabiel en het ’n relatief kort halfleeftyd (die meeste minder as ’n sekonde). Van dié isotope is die bestaan van 266Rf en 268Rf nog nie bevestig nie.
In die natuur kom geen rutherfordium voor nie; alle isotope is sinteties in ’n laboratorium berei. Die eerste sintetiese isotoop was 259Rf, in 1966.
Die kortslewende isotoop van rutherfordium is 254Rf, met ’n halfleeftyd van ongeveer 23 mikrosekondes. Die langslewende een is 267Rf, met ’n halfleeftyd van 5 uur.
